My Role
The task was to design a set of business cards for House Representatives, intended to be distributed to prospective House Pages. In addition, a dedicated web page was created to direct students to the online application process, offering a comprehensive overview, frequently asked questions, and visual examples to guide them through the application journey.
The web component was created within the existing C# .NET framework, following the design language and guidelines of the North Carolina General Assembly. The webpage project includes:
- Landing page
- FAQs
- Online application form
- Photo gallery
Challenges and Solutions
Some of the unique challanges with this project were generating the QR codes, communicating with printing services to create the finished business cards, translating the digital layouts and fonts to a physical product with a wide array of users, and creating online application portal.
To overcome these challenges, I used a reliable Adobe QR code generator to ensure compatibility across
devices
and coordinated closely with printing services to maintain brand consistency for the 2 components. I
tested multiple font and layout variations to ensure clarity and accessibility for all users,
balancing digital and print design requirements. For the online application portal, I adhered to the
existing C# .NET framework and design guidelines while dynamically loading the content via an Azure SQL
Database incorporating user-friendly navigation and clear
instructions to streamline the application process.
